Public Policy Measure
The Inclusion Activities and Capacity Building Center (CACI) is a social service, implemented in specific physical facilities, designed to develop occupational activities for people with disabilities, with the aim of promoting their quality of life, enabling greater access to the community, its resources and activities and constituting a means of training for inclusion, depending on their needs, abilities and level of functionality.
This centre aims to promote a number of objectives, including:
* To create conditions designed to enhance the personal development and social inclusion of people with disabilities;
* Developing strategies to promote self-esteem and personal and social autonomy, through the involvement and active participation of the people themselves in defining the activities to be developed;
* Contribute to emotional and social well-being by qualifying the activities developed in terms of number, variety and nature, favouring activities focused on the uniqueness of each person with a disability, promoting their well-being and quality of life;
* Articulating transition processes to socio-professional inclusion or professional rehabilitation programmes; * Developing activities and services focused on facilitating/mediating learning and inclusion pathways that enable greater access to the community, its resources and activities.
This social service is regulated by Order no. 70/2021, of March 26 in its current wording, which regulates the general conditions of the building, the terms and technical conditions of installation and organisation, operation and installation that the social service of the Inclusion Activities and Capacity Building Center must comply with.
