Young or Adult with Disability in Residential Home
A financial grant paid monthly by Social Security to Private Social Solidarity Institutions, Non-Governmental Organisations or legally equivalent, with a cooperation agreement with State, that develop the social service Residential Home, per adult with disability.
The Residential Home is a social service, implemented in specific physical facilities, intended for collective accommodation, for temporary or permanent use, for people with disabilities who are unable to live in their family environment.
This social response has the following objectives
a) Contribute to the well-being and improved quality of life of residents;
b) Promote strategies to strengthen personal self-esteem and the ability to organise activities of daily living;
c) Promote or maintain the resident’s functionality and autonomy;
d) Facilitate integration into other structures, services or establishments more suited to the resident’s life project;
e) Promote interaction with the family and the community.
This social service is regulated by Order no. 59/2015 of March 2, in its current wording, which defines the conditions for the organisation, operation and installation of residential establishments, known as residential homes and autonomous residences.
