Child and Adolescent in a Level 1 Paediatric Integrated Care Inpatient Unit (UCIP Level 1)
Amount paid by the Health sector plus the maximum co-payment borne by Social Security, per user/day, to the promoting and managing entities of the National Network for Integrated Continuous Care (National Health Service public entities, Private Institutions of Social Solidarity — IPSS — or legally equivalent bodies, and private entities), under programme contracts, for the development of Level 1 Paediatric Integrated Care Inpatient Units.
The National Network for Long-term Integrated Care – Rede Nacional de Cuidados Continuados Integrados (RNCCI) consists of continuing healthcare and/or social support units and teams, and a set of integrated continuing mental healthcare units and teams, which originate from local community services, covering hospitals, health centres, social security services, entities form social economy and local authorities. The RNCCI is implemented by the Ministries of Health and Labour, Solidarity and Social Security.
The Level 1 Paediatric Integrated Care Inpatient Unit (UCIP Level 1) provide health care and social support following an episode of acute illness or to prevent deterioration of a chronic condition, focusing on rehabilitation, re-ablement, maintenance and palliative care for children in situations of dependency, with a view to their reintegration into family and community life.
