Child and Adolescent in a Paediatric Outpatient Unit
Amount paid by the Health sector plus the maximum co-payment borne by Social Security, per user/day, to the promoting and managing entities of the National Network for Integrated Continuous Care (National Health Service public entities, Private Institutions of Social Solidarity — IPSS — or legally equivalent bodies, and private entities), under programme contracts, for the development of Paediatric Outpatient Units.
The National Network for Long-term Integrated Care – Rede Nacional de Cuidados Continuados Integrados (RNCCI) consists of continuing healthcare and/or social support units and teams, and a set of integrated continuing mental healthcare units and teams, which originate from local community services, covering hospitals, health centres, social security services, entities form social economy and local authorities. The RNCCI is implemented by the Ministries of Health and Labour, Solidarity and Social Security.
The Paediatric Outpatient Units provide integrated continued care focused on maintenance, promotion of autonomy and social support for children with varying degrees of dependency, without requiring inpatient admission, who either do not have conditions to be cared for at home or whose situation does not advise the provision of home care.
